Earthfast means fixed in the earth
These were based on observed field patterns, and used raw pigment from Morocco for egg tempera.
The frames were designed to be an integral part of the work.
Nkisi
A series of 32 from 2011.
The Nkisi was a Congolese artefact made in the 16th to 19th centuries and used to avert ill-fortune. This is my 21st century take on them, using pig's bladders, screws and nails.
